Gone fishin'

Basil likes to 'fish' for frogs in the little pond in our garden. He's tried to deny it today, but the evidence is rather incriminating...

Flashback Friday: Parsley looking guilty

Found some old Instagram shots that I don't think were ever used on the blog before, so thought I'd do a 'Flashback Friday' feature for a few weeks. I'm sure everyone is as excited as I am.

To start us off, here's the late, great Parsley, looking guilty about something...

God damn it, I miss that little guy.

Basil: A Day in the Life

A day in the life of Basil the bengal cat.

1. Sit around looking cute:

2. Sleep:

3. Sit around looking a bit weird:

4. Eat the leftovers, even if they are peas:

5. Sleep:

6. Pull angriest possible face when getting picked up:

7. Sit in best box and look like you're going to cry:

8. Help make the bed:

9. Get the best spot in the bed:

10. And settle down for a well-earned night's rest:

Basil's weekend

Apologies to those who follow me on Instagram or Twitter, this may seem a little repetitious.

This weekend, Basil has been keeping watch in the garden:

Relaxing in his box:

(Really) relaxing on the sofa:

And modelling the latest in feline outdoor wear for AW14 - the cobweb veil:

I'm ready for my close-up, Mr DeMille...

Basil's not a huge fan of having his photo taken, but he has no choice, he's just too handsome.

He only attacks the camera occasionally...

Guest Editor - Part 3... Games Night

This evening we decided to have a boys night in playing video games. I gave Basil the choice of what game we were going to play. He chose Watch Dogs.

I think he went for that one as it mean he could watch dogs from the comfort of the sofa. At first he was quite entertained and was even giving helpful advice.

But he became a lot less interested when he realised there were no dogs involved.

I think his mind started to wander.

Until eventually he found something much better to do.

Guest Editor - Part 2... Something strange going on

So the last couple of evenings I've been getting home from work to hear strange mechanical sounds coming from the kitchen as I enter the house.

As I get closer they suddenly stop. So today I thought I'd go in extra quietly, armed with my camera...

I finally got a glimpse of the culprit:

And then he saw me:

What's he doing on the letterpress?

Guest Editor!

Basil's chief publicist is away for the week on a much deserved break in Cornwall so I've been tasked with keeping an eye on him.

We didn't get off to the best of starts. Basil launched an attack on me the moment he knew we were alone.

When he wasn't looking, I managed to convince him he'd stripped all the flesh off my leg and that he'd got down to the bone.

A while later we talked things over and he admitted what he did was wrong.

To make up for it he promised to cook me dinner tonight. He said I can have anything I want from his specially designed menu.

In the end I plumped for the Science Plan Optimal Care. Basil went for the Gourmet Perle Tuna and Haddock special. It turned out to be quite a romantic meal.

He wasn't impressed that I didn't finish mine so came to give me a hand.

I think we're friends again now. We've made big plans for tomorrow night...
