Basil has been making a lot of serious faces this weekend. Excuse the background mess, we're mid-way through refurbishing an old letterpress.

Rennovations

We've recently had new carpets fitted throughout our house... and man, did that need doing...

This is the lounge... from when we viewed the house (not our furniture!):

As you can imagine, it's been a long and rather tedious process, and we've got a long way to go yet. Here's Basil, more than a little put out by the bare floorboards situation:

A slightly unwelcome visitor

So Basil was bobbing along quite nicely with his little life, until this happened:

And Basil was like, WTF is that doing in my house?

This gorgeous little lady is Skye, she belongs to my youngest brother-in-law. We were lucky enough to be baby-sitting her this weekend. It's been a little exhausting, but she's an absolute treasure:

Basil didn't react quite as badly as I thought he might (i.e. no-one was hospitalised), but you can see he was profoundly unimpressed by the canine invasion:
